Retro-Chicken

For reasons I could not understand Joanna wanted to arrange a photo session with chickens she raises next to the Department of Zoology where she works. It rained terribly that day and it certainly did not make me more enthusiastic either. But oh well, what won't you do for women?
I like the effect though. Do you?
Please do not ask what she is wearing. I do not know anything more than you can see, but I am sure Joanna will update the post when she returns.
Speaking of me, I use an excellent Pentax K10D (it's weather proof!)

A Wam?

Joanna's P. S.:

I'm wearing a second-hand dress, mum's old scarf and an H&M cardigan. So nothing special, really.

The Little Prince

Ever since the fairy tale theme came about, Adrian wanted to photograph the Little Prince. With a bit of help from Kasia, here he is.

Oto on, stworzony przy pomocy Kasi.

Adrian ma na sobie:
- Zielone spodenki Kasi (no name)
- Czerwony szlafrok Kasi z Primarku
- T-shirt Pierre Cardin
- No i szalik, ktory jest, emm, zasłonką, i normalnie wisi w pokoju

Originally Adrian wanted to use his own planet, but ended up with this moon downloaded from the internet which was taken by a 0.9m telescope.

Fairy tales revisited: The Rose and the Ring

Angelica and Giglio, drawn by the Author

Now Angelica little knew that the ring which Giglio had given her was a fairy ring: if a man wore it, it made all the women in love with him; if a woman, all the gentlemen.

- William Makepeace Thackeray, "The Rose and the Ring"

"The Rose and the Ring" was one of Joanna's favourite childhood stories. As a continuation of the fairy tale theme, we have put together a few photographs with this book in mind. Thanks go to Tucker for his negotiation skills.

Joanna wspomina "Pierścień i różę" jako jedną z ukochanych historyjek dzieciństwa. Kontynuując motyw bajkowy wrzucamy kilka zdjęć inspirowanych właśnie tą książką. Dziękujemy Tuckerowi za jego zdolności negocjacyjne.

Joanna - Prince Giglio (Książę Lulejka) is dressed in:
- a shirt bought at Camden Market
- a vest bought in a charity shop (apparently it was brought in by a lovely Canadian woman)
- leggings - Next clearance
- wellies from a vintage shop
The Enchanted Rose is a gift from Joanna's mother.

Joanna - Princess Angelica (Księżniczka Angelika) is wearing:
- a blouse bought at Gloucester Green market
- the Prince's vest
- a skirt from a second-hand store in Gdańsk
- a crown (in fact a necklace) from Oxford's Covered Market
- a ring bought at AMBERIF: International Fair of Amber, Jewellery and Gemstones

Mary Poppins

This is our tribute to Mary Poppins: the real, stern, P. L. Travers Mary Poppins, not the nauseatingly sweet, technicolour Disney cyborg. Even though Joanna greatly admires Julie Andrews as an actress, she hates the Mary Poppins film as much as Pamela Lyndon Travers herself did. It's just not about Mary!
Adrian is staying out of the book vs. movie debate, preferring to observe Joanna's unrest at a safe distance, ideally hidden behind a camera lens.

Fun fact: P. L. Travers was Australian. Did you know?

Akcja szafiarska: dzień postaci z bajek, cz. I

Ciekawostka: P. L. Travers pochodziła z Australii. Wiedzieliście o tym?

Joanna's Mary is wearing a:
Coat - from Żana
Hat - from a vintage shop in Glasgow
Shoes - Clark's, bought in a charity shop
Bag - from Solar
Pashmina - a gift
Skirt - no name, charity shop
